Our Roadways, Intersections, and the traffic controls that regulate the flow of vehicles and people are typically owned by our state or local governmental agencies. Those agencies often hire private engineers and contractors to design, build, and maintain them. Dangerous conditions of our roadways often come are the result of poor design, negligent construction activities, poor maintenance, and/or the lack of proper inspection after these projects. If you have been injured from dangerous conditions of our roadways, we can help.
Often the defective condition of a roadway is subtle to the untrained eye. This presents tremendous danger to the people who rely on the safety of our roads. Can you spot the roadway defect in this picture? The placement of a no pedestrian crossing sign at the end of pedestrian crosswalks is contradictory signalization. The approved plans called for the installation of electrical pedestrian man/hand signals which would have allowed for safe crossing. The dangers presented by this contradictory signalization are subtle and perhaps imperceptible to regular people who are simply trying to cross at the crosswalk. However errors like this should have been caught and corrected by the professional people who designed, built, and inspected the roadway. Unfortunately it was not caught in time to prevent catastrophic injuries to our clients while crossing at the crosswalk at night. Had the proper signalization been installed, the intersection would have been safe for use.
